I just got finished having my devotion time and just wanted to share a little bit of it with you. Read
Romans 6:1-14. Take your time and read it slowly. Sometimes it can be hard to understand (it's deep, makes you think) you may have to do like me and reread it 4 or 5 times. Anyway... in these few verses it talks about sin. Sin is such a powerful force in our life. It's something that we have to fight with every single day of our life. Even if you have been a Christian your whole life or just a few days, you still struggle with sin. Sin wants to take control of our life, but we must master it and take control of it! When you commit your life to Christ and want to live for him, we must reject sin. Rejecting sin is part of our commitment to God. God didn't give us these rules just to make our life miserable, he did it because he loves us and knows whats best for us. Jesus gave up his life for us so that we could be forgiven of our sins, not so that we could keep living in it. As you read in the later part of these verses, we see that Jesus overcame sin by dying on the cross and living a sinless life. As believers in Jesus, we have also been given that same power through the Holy Spirit to overcome sin!!! We must keep up the good fight and not give up doing good things. Verse 11 reminds us to count ourselves dead to sin and not to let sin reign in our body. The enemy wants us to allow sin in our life so that he could have control of us. The enemy comes to steal, kill, & destroy. We must stand strong and resist sin! Even at times when it is easier to give into temptation than to fight it, stand strong! Pray and ask God for his help and
HE WILL! If we can help you out in any way just let us know, we are here for
YOU! Hope this helps you out in some way. Have a great day!
