Monday's Devotion

A NEW WEEK, A NEW CHANCE
I don't know about you, but I love Mondays! I posted a little bit about this on my personal blog this morning. Mondays to me are kind of like getting a new start on life! Kinda like when you are playing a video game and you don't do so good, all you have to do is hit the reset button and you get to start all over again! Thats how Mondays are to me. No matter what kind of week you had last week, if you didn't do the things you should have or were suppose to; today is a new day and a new week! You get a new chance! So if you had a bad week maybe made some decisions to do stuff that weren't the best. Ask God to forgive you and move on in the right direction. Don't get down on yourself for messing up, but just say God I messed up, please forgive me and then forget about your past sins. Follow after God with all your heart! When God forgives us of our sins, he doesn't hold on to our past sins and say hey! remember what you did 6 months and 16 days ago, I still remember it!!! So if God isn't going to hold our past sins against us, then why should we? In Philippians 3:13-14 Paul says, "Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus." I'm sure that Paul was reminded of his old days a lot! In case you didn't know, before Paul was saved his job was to find and kill Christians. Then he met Jesus and his life and was changed drastically. So no matter what you've been through and no matter what you have done. Its never too later! So don't forget today is Monday and if it is Tuesday or Wednesday when you read this just pretend it's Monday and start all over again!
We love you & believe in you!

Monday's Devotion

I just got finished having my devotion time and just wanted to share a little bit of it with you. Read Romans 6:1-14. Take your time and read it slowly. Sometimes it can be hard to understand (it's deep, makes you think) you may have to do like me and reread it 4 or 5 times. Anyway... in these few verses it talks about sin. Sin is such a powerful force in our life. It's something that we have to fight with every single day of our life. Even if you have been a Christian your whole life or just a few days, you still struggle with sin. Sin wants to take control of our life, but we must master it and take control of it! When you commit your life to Christ and want to live for him, we must reject sin. Rejecting sin is part of our commitment to God. God didn't give us these rules just to make our life miserable, he did it because he loves us and knows whats best for us. Jesus gave up his life for us so that we could be forgiven of our sins, not so that we could keep living in it. As you read in the later part of these verses, we see that Jesus overcame sin by dying on the cross and living a sinless life. As believers in Jesus, we have also been given that same power through the Holy Spirit to overcome sin!!! We must keep up the good fight and not give up doing good things. Verse 11 reminds us to count ourselves dead to sin and not to let sin reign in our body. The enemy wants us to allow sin in our life so that he could have control of us. The enemy comes to steal, kill, & destroy. We must stand strong and resist sin! Even at times when it is easier to give into temptation than to fight it, stand strong! Pray and ask God for his help and HE WILL! If we can help you out in any way just let us know, we are here for YOU! Hope this helps you out in some way. Have a great day!
